Campground Review by Unknown Camper of Cambridge

5 Star - Excellent Camping
We just came back from a week of camping. Best provincial park we have stayed in yet and have been camping for 8 years. Stayed in Bayside. Busier than Meadowlands but is great when have young kids. Site we had 225 was mostly private and quite large. Wasn't so great when it rained but that was only 1 day. Site 222 would be better. Close to the beach and the hiking trails are great. Boating and fising is excellent. Highly recommended

5 Star - Excellent, many options for different users; good maintenance; beautiful park
Good sites with decent privacy in Shadyridge (#301, 303, 306, 358, 340) which are also near canoe launch and beaches. Great simple interior camping at Bob's Cove, not too far to canoe. Beautiful lake, excellent for beginner canoeing or kayaking (sheltered areas to stay away from motorboats and windy open areas). Huge lake, lots of places for experienced canoeists/kayakers to explore. We stayed at 301, which was great, but could have been further away from garbage bins at 303 or 306 (raccoons a bit noisy sometimes). Have stayed at Bob's Cove in past, - three spots to choose from. One is more isolated, two are together. Pick the one furthest from canoe launch for best privacy. Frequent staff patrols until 10 pm; single person showers, flush toilets and drinking water taps nearby; ice and firewood for sale at gatehouse. Picnic table and firepit seem to be on each site. Hiking for different abilities and distances available (from 2 to 10 km). Highly recommended.
